If you’ve browsed the Shamitay shop, you might have noticed something: there’s only ever one of each wreath. No sizes, no “add 3 to basket”, no “back in stock soon”. When a wreath is sold, it’s gone. Here’s why we make them that way.
Every Shamitay wreath is hand-made in Daingean, Co. Offaly. Each one starts with a base and a basket of flowers, leaves, berries and trims, and grows from there, stem by stem. The colours, the balance and the little finishing touches are decided as the wreath takes shape, not copied from a template.
Because each wreath is built by hand, even two wreaths made from similar materials end up different: a rose sits a little higher, the greenery falls a different way, a ribbon is tied just so. We’d rather make something with character than turn out identical copies.
Every wreath in the shop is photographed as it is. The wreath in the picture is the one that comes to your door, not a “similar item”. (Screens show colours a little differently, so shades can vary slightly from what you see.)
Being one-offs means our range is always changing. New wreaths are added as they’re made, and favourites sell. If you see one you love, don’t wait too long, especially in the run-up to Christmas. We’re also honest about what we can do: we don’t take custom or special orders, so every wreath you see is ready to go.
Mass-produced wreaths are fine, but you’ll often see the same one on half the doors on the street. A Shamitay wreath is yours alone, made with care in the Midlands, and it will last for years with a little looking after (here’s how to care for it).
Because the range changes all the time, a Shamitay gift voucher is a good way to give a wreath. The person you’re buying for can wait for the one that’s perfect for their door. Vouchers come in €25, €50, €100 and €200, are emailed to you within 24 hours, and are valid for five years.
